According to the handbook, "credits should relate to healthcare management, teaching or the biopsychological knowledge base of human services. I have completed 5 courses to date and would like to use them.

However, I am confused as it states under the "Points" area on the Handbook "When using academics, please keep in mind at least 40 of the total 80 portfolio must pertain to the specialty". Answered December 30, Thank you for your question. On Page 12 of the PGP Handbook, several examples of acceptable courses are listed including business, ethics, and healthcare management.

You are required to have at least 80 points per specialty. You are allowed a maximum of forty 40 points from Professional Practice per specialty.

Good Luck! The CEUs must directly relate to the specialty that they are being claimed for. Question: Two questions - I'm recertifying wound and ostomy for the first time next month originally certified in I just this evening noticed that there are new core curriculum texts available. Will my texts get me by or do I need the editions?

I'm going to buy the editions, but if I need content in them to pass recertification, I will need to move out my test date. I've just spent the last month going through my ostomy text and am ready to test but I will move that date to February if I need to use the edition to prepare. My second question - is the recertification exam any different than the initial certification exam?

Thank you. Answered January 3, The exam is the same for all candidates testing. Exam development is a lengthy process, which ensures a quality product and adherence to best practices in testing. This means from time of development to time of scoring, an item will have been through rigor for many months. Since the recent Core Curriculum are new publications, it is likely their content will show in future exam forms at this point in time.

I hope this explains an answer to your inquiry. These cookies do not enable third parties to access any of your personal information.
