It's ok Posted: Wed Jun 13, pm. I found out that wire 9 was accidentally disconnected when manipulating the cable. Re: Perfect Posted: Wed Jun 13, pm. Hi Zoop, I hate to be a pain, but would it be possible to tell us the labels of the contacts the wires go to the capacitor or resistor, pin chip or whatever that the wires go to, or show a higher resolution scan of the board?
I really hope the GG works again. Re: It's ok Posted: Wed Jun 13, pm. That is a huge relief. Now I don't feel so guilty! Hi Guys, This was in the original post about the subject. Seems there was a new message. Not sure I understand it. What do you guys think? Posted: Thu Jun 14, am. Was the scan made with your Game Gear?
If you can get an higher resolution scan, I'll note the connection. No problems :. Re: Hmm.. Posted: Thu Jun 14, pm. Re: Perfect Posted: Thu Jun 14, pm. I assumed they went to the otherwise unused pads marked T1 -T Except Vcc, ground and the 4 wires we had already.
I hope all GGs have those T points?? Re: Ok! Zoop, I've got the pic ready. Posted: Fri Jun 15, am. Extra pictures Posted: Thu Jun 16, am. Thread necromancy.. Posted: Thu Jun 16, am. I wonder why yours has a red wire vs my black wire? It also appears that yours may be an american model while the seller told me that mine was a Japanese model Notice the serial sticker on mine. I wonder if that means that they made them only in the hundreds or thousands I would really like to write Sega about this as this probably is by far the rarest Game Gear ever, yet we have zero info on it.
I want to know what kind of rarity we are talking about with these things Posted: Thu Jun 16, pm. Well it's a developer item so they probably only made a few thousands. There's always rarer - don't obsess about rarity. Posted: Thu Jun 16, pm Last edited by skins4thewin on Sat Jun 18, am; edited 1 time in total.
This is quite an inefficient setup but the Game Gear itself is hardly famous for battery life so I don't think anybody will mind. Circuit Diagram - Version 2. Sync signal is a via -- an electroplated hole through the board. Carefully scratch the green solder resist layer away before soldering a wire to it. The board is designed to fit into the space below the cartridge slot. I went to check the cable and it worked great but the first time I tried to unplug it from the GBA the cord snapped. I wish there was a way to just abut the RCA cable.

When I had it apart before, it looked really prone to that sort of thing. They commonly have issues with the power supply section of the board, one of the components typically needs to be replaced. In that case simply bypassing it would work for normal operation, but you may lose the ability to do things like safely charge a rechargeable battery pack from the built-in supply circuitry. I have not experienced with the 3rd one yet.
Seems a lot easier than adding video output to a Gameboy… why did and does Nintendo make things so complicated? Hackers will never understand that Nintendo does not make their money selling consoles. The original DMG takes advantage of being able to stall the pixel clock in order to make the rest of the design cleaner. There was certainly never going to be a cart that let you watch TV on it, in 4 shades of greeny-yellow. The GG had those connections, the TV tuner and the SMS back-compatibility, that meant it was worth the trouble of making the display system fit fairly well with TV screens.
Someone from RGVC did it back in the s. Ah, here we go.
